A standard shipping container delivered to your land gives you storage space at your address. Choose the service first so your enquiry reaches the right type of supplier.
Specify a dry storage container, the size and door access you need. Include the delivery postcode, hire dates, locking arrangements and the goods being stored. Wind and watertightness does not by itself control condensation.
Plan on-site storage →With self-storage, your goods travel to an operator's premises and the container normally stays there. Compare access hours, loading arrangements, insurance and the contract for that site. A self-storage rate is not a delivered-container hire rate.
Compare the storage routes →A bare store does not specify an office, welfare facility or working cold store. Ask for the equipment, connections, servicing and handover checks required for that use.
Make the hire period comparable: a week, four weeks and a calendar month are different billing units. Give both suppliers the same start and end dates, then ask for the total number of chargeable periods, minimum charge and extension rate in writing.
Measure the largest items against the container's internal dimensions and door opening. For moisture-sensitive goods, plan condensation control during storage before choosing the specification.
